Professional Experience
Dr. Zuercher’s professional experience is comprehensive and thorough. After completing his medical training, he worked as an Internist in Kansas for 3 years before relocating to Lincoln, Nebraska to assume the patient care responsibilities of a thriving Internal Medicine office. During his 14 years in Lincoln, he was bestowed with multiple awards including Top 10 Doc Honors as well as the Bridges of Excellence Award which recognizes clinicians who deliver superior patient care. In addition, he was repeatedly honored for top patient satisfaction scores. In 2013, Dr. Zuercher was offered the opportunity to work as a Hospitalist at a critical-access hospital where he served as Chief-of-Staff. During that time, he also served as a member of the hospital’s Board-of-Directors and on the Physician Governance Board. In January of 2018, he relocated to Naples, Florida with his family. Prior to joining Gulfshore Concierge Medicine, he worked as an Internist with the NCH Healthcare Group. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Society of Hospital Medicine, and the Collier County Medical Society.
Education and Training
Dr. Zuercher received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Creighton University and graduated with distinction (cum laude). Before entering medical school, he completed coursework in Rome, Italy through Loyola University Chicago’s John Felice Rome Center, which is a premier study abroad program. Dr. Zuercher obtained his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. During medical school, he completed additional training at Harvard School of Medicine in Boston and was one of only three students awarded a competitive medical student research scholarship at the Instituto de Investigaciones Citologicas in Valencia, Spain. He completed his medical residency program in Internal Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in North Carolina. He became board certified in Internal Medicine in 1996 and re-certified in 2006, and again in 2016. He is passionate about staying current on the latest medical information through medical journals, podcasts, medical conferences, and collaboration with fellow colleagues.
